Jailer 2 cast salary reports have put Rajinikanth’s fee at ₹110 crore, as Nelson Dilipkumar’s sequel opened in theatres worldwide on Thursday. None of the figures have been confirmed by the producers.
According to a social media report, the actor is receiving ₹110 crore as a fixed fee, with total earnings potentially touching ₹180 crore if the film performs exceptionally at the box office. The report also pegs the film’s budget at ₹240 crore to ₹300 crore, including the pay of the principal cast. Neither Rajinikanth nor Sun Pictures has confirmed these numbers.
Jailer 2 Cast Salary: What Has Been Reported So Far
Beyond Rajinikanth, no credible fee reports have emerged for the film’s large ensemble. The cast includes Shiva Rajkumar, Mohanlal, Jackie Shroff, Yogi Babu, Mirnaa, Ramya Krishnan and Vinayakan, with a cameo by Vijay Sethupathi. Vidya Balan plays Kantha, while SJ Suryah plays the antagonist Bodhi Kalpak. Mithun Chakraborty and Suraj Venjaramoodu also feature.
The only other figure in circulation concerns Nandamuri Balakrishna. A May 2025 report, citing the Tamil outlet Valai Pechu, claimed he would be paid ₹50 crore for an extended cameo and had allotted 20 days. The claim has since been muddied. A November 2025 report said he had reportedly declined the role, with Fahadh Faasil tipped as a replacement, yet an August 2026 report again lists him among the film’s Telugu-market additions. His fee, and his role, remain unverified.
How Does It Compare With Jailer (2023)?
The first film’s pay figures were also media estimates. Rajinikanth was reported to have earned ₹110 crore, Mohanlal ₹8 crore, Shivarajkumar ₹4 crore, Jackie Shroff and Tamannaah Bhatia ₹4 crore each, and Ramya Krishnan ₹1 crore, from a budget of about ₹225 crore. The lead star’s fee is therefore reported to be flat across both films, while the overall budget has reportedly grown.
Cast costs appear to be the bulk of the spend. The same report says production costs excluding major cast salaries were kept under ₹100 crore.

Box Office: Strong Advance Sales Ahead of Release
The sequel arrives during the Dussehra period. Sun Pictures announced the October 15, 2026 date and dismissed earlier delay rumours. Worldwide Day 1 advance bookings had crossed ₹50 crore gross by October 13, according to Sacnilk.
Trade analyst Girish Wankhede told Outlook he expects at least ₹50 crore on opening day and over ₹200 crore for the first weekend. The benchmark is formidable. The original Jailer earned about ₹650 crore worldwide.
Analysis: Star Power Versus Ensemble Risk
This section is the writer’s opinion and not a review. Critic reviews for Jailer 2 were not available at the time of writing. Part 1’s reception offers a guide. Gulf News summarised it as a good first half and an “ok” second half, while The Week praised its dry humour and gripping screenplay. The sequel’s challenge is to retain that tone while managing a far larger cast.
If each cameo gets a meaningful scene, the film could justify its scale. If the cast reads as a list of names, Rajinikanth’s ₹110 crore star power will have to carry the film alone.
