Marvels Rivals Infinity War Mode. Best Duos

Marvel Rivals Infinity War Mode: Best Duos, Card Picks and Infinity Stone Strategy

The Marvel Rivals Infinity War mode is the strangest thing NetEase has put in the game so far, and it isn’t a hero shooter fight in any normal sense. Twelve players split into six teams of two, and duos fight 2v2 battles until one team is left. Most guides explain the rules. This one explains what to do when the rules punish you.

Win by being the first duo to hold all six Infinity Stones. Stones come from knocking other duos out, and your shared health pool is what keeps you in the match. The mode runs until December 11, 2026.

As the Doomsday release approaches, Marvel games are gaining popularity, and fans are excited about the upcoming Marvel Rivals update.

What Is the Marvel Rivals Infinity War Mode and How Does It Work?

It’s a limited-time 2v2 PvP mode from the Path to Doomsday event. NetEase describes it as built around short rounds, random drafting, and intense duo matchups. It’s been compared to Arena in League of Legends and Gauntlet: Glitched in VALORANT.

How Do You Win the Infinity War Mode in Marvel Rivals?

Marvel Rivals Infinity War Mode

Collect all six Stones before another duo does. Beating a team lets you claim the Stone it held. Eliminating a duo hands you every Stone it carried. That means one big elimination of a Stone-rich duo can jump you far ahead.

The part most players miss is that health matters more than kills. Rounds 1 to 3 are pure hero fights with no Stones, so any health you lose there carries into the rounds where Stones decide fights. The Stones feel like the prize, but the health pool decides whether you’re still alive to use them.

How Long Does the Marvel Rivals Infinity War Mode Last?

The mode runs from October 9, 2026 (09:00 UTC) to December 11, 2026 (09:00 UTC). The next Path to Doomsday chapter, the 50-player Endgame raid, arrives October 22.

Which Heroes Can You Play in Infinity War Mode?

You get 13 heroes, all from the film. They are Doctor Strange, Captain America, Groot, Thor, Black Panther, Black Widow, Iron Man, Spider-Man, Scarlet Witch, Winter Soldier, Star-Lord, Mantis and Rocket Raccoon. The normal ranked tier list doesn’t carry over, because a 2v2 with no passive healing rewards self-sufficiency over frontline anchoring.

What Does Each Infinity Stone Do in Marvel Rivals?

Marvel Rivals Infinity War Mode: What Gems Do in Game

On PC, press Z to cycle between Stones you hold and G to activate the equipped one.

StoneBase effect (round 4+)Enhanced effect (round 7+)
RealityMarks an area where enemy attacks turn into bubbles.Enemies inside the area are Transformed.
SoulSpend half your max health to fully heal your partner.Heals fully, adds bonus health, passes on your bonus attributes. Limit one per team.
MindMind control an enemy and use their Stone’s base effect.Same, but with their enhanced effect.
SpaceRepeatable teleport with a damage boost and bonus health. Can also teleport behind a targeted enemy.
PowerBeam that deals damage equal to a percentage of the target’s max health.Sustained hits also control the target.
TimeRewind yourself five seconds.Rewinds the whole battlefield five seconds and can revive characters.

One rule that catches people out: Time Stone rewinds don’t refund Stone abilities you already used.

Which Infinity Stone Is Best in Marvel Rivals Infinity War Mode?

There’s no single best one. Because you’re dealt a Stone rather than choosing it, the better question is what to do with the one you got. This is my read of how each Stone’s description plays out, not tested results.

If you holdBuild the plan aroundDon’t waste it on
TimeYour partner going down. The enhanced rewind can revive.A round you’re already winning.
SoulThe hero with the better kill threat. Heal them, not the weaker partner.Chip damage. It’s a full heal.
PowerHeroes with big health cards. Damage scales with the target’s max health, so it gets stronger as enemies stack health.Squishy targets. A normal hit does the job.
RealityStopping a committed dive or ultimate.Open ground where enemies can just walk out.
SpaceMobile duelists that need to reach a target.Slow, stationary heroes.
MindFights where the enemy holds a strong Stone to turn against them.Rounds where you can’t hold a clear line of sight.

What Are the Best Duos in Marvel Rivals Infinity War Mode?

The shared health pool and no passive healing make a double-damage duo risky. The early community pick is one sustain healer plus one self-sufficient damage dealer, with Rocket Raccoon and Mantis the most-coached pairing. That is early-event consensus, so expect it to shift as players find card combinations.

DuoWhy it works
Rocket Raccoon + MantisRocket brings tracking damage and self-peel, and Mantis tops up the pool and boosts his output.
Mantis + Scarlet WitchDouble threat with enough healing to survive the later health penalties.
Doctor Strange + Rocket RaccoonStrange shields and opens portals while Rocket hunts eliminations.

Two duelists such as Black Panther and Spider-Man can work, but every missed dive is costly. If you run that pairing, draft survival cards first.

What Are the Best Upgrade Cards in Infinity War Mode?

A simple order: extra draws early, survival cards when health drops, damage cards once you’re ahead.

Early draw cards (rounds 1 to 3, where extra picks pay off most):

  • Good Catch gives a chance at extra Standard draws from the next round.
  • Avengers Academy grants four extra Common draws that round.

Survival cards:

  • Final Surge leaves you at 1 HP with bonus health once per round when you’d otherwise die.
  • Last One Standing gives 70% damage reduction for 15 seconds once your partner is knocked out.

Damage cards:

  • AP Rounds makes 60% of your damage ignore the target’s damage reduction.
  • All Rounder adds 15% to primary attack damage, ability damage, attack speed, cooldown reduction and ultimate charge.

Risky cards cut both ways. Glass Cannon cuts 40% max health for a 45% damage boost. That’s a bad trade when your shared pool is already low.

How Do You Counter Each Infinity Stone?

Each opposing duo’s Stone and remaining health show on screen, so check it before every round.

  • Time: Pressure them until the rewind is spent, then commit your ultimates.
  • Soul: Focus one target with full burst. A slow fight lets the full heal erase your damage.
  • Reality: Step out of the marked area during its short delay.
  • Power and Mind: Break line of sight, since both need sustained beam hits.

What Are the Rewards, and How Do You Get the Infinity Gauntlet?

The Infinity Gauntlet accessory is the headline free reward. It comes from collecting 10 Stones, and that count adds up across all your matches in the event. You don’t need to hold 10 in one match.
